What to do with the Family Farm?
Presenter: Jeff Hilperts
BWF Senior Vice President, Philanthropic Counsel
There is an incredible opportunity for nonprofits and charities in largely agricultural states like Ohio to engage their donors around gifts of land, specifically family farms. These properties have been held by families for several generations but, often times, the next generation has no interest in continuing the farming tradition. Jeff will highlight how philanthropy can play a part in the farm’s future.
Jeff has an extensive array of development experience, with a 25-year career higher education and healthcare. Most recently, he was the Vice President of Advancement at his alma mater, Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama and the Chief Advancement Officer at OSU’s Michael E. Moritz College of Law. In 2017, he made the leap to consulting at BWF. Since joining BWF, Jeff has served over 50 clients across colleges and universities, independent schools, and major nonprofits. In his current role of Senior Vice President, he manages a versatile team of philanthropic consultants.
